(I'll give you your own section, OK?) In the coming weeks, we'll be incorporating research with poetry. Look on the right-hand side for some helpful links for MLA Research Citations as well as poetry. Let's make these last four weeks great ones!

2X Romeo and Juliet
It's Sunday afternoon, and rather than taking a day of rest, I'm mentally gearing up for a fast-paced week ahead. We are going to have to finish Romeo and Juliet this week, so be prepared for quite a bit of outside reading. I'm going to try to give you as much class time as possible in which to practice your acting.
Check out the new links under "Romeo and Juliet Help." There is a link to definitions of Shakespearean terms, and it may be helpful for you to read with this website close at hand. Also, there are quite a few helpful ideas for acting under the "Promptbook/Acting" link. You will be performing in class on Friday for a grade, so please do all you can in order to prepare yourselves for this grade. If you need help, PLEASE ASK ME. I want you all to receive the best grade possible!
Let's have a fantastic week ahead, and keep in mind that a much-deserved break is just around the corner!

Freshman Fun
Check out these Romeo and Juliet videos.
The text is from R&J, the Prologue to Act II.
(In particular, check out the creativity displayed by the "Seven Nation Army" rendition in Block 1 and the dark/flashlight rendition in Block 4.)

1 Now old desire doth in his death-bed lie, 2 And young affection gapes to be his heir; 3 That fair for which love groan'd for and would die, 4 With tender Juliet match'd, is now not fair. 5 Now Romeo is beloved and loves again, 6 Alike betwitchèd by the charm of looks, 7 But to his foe supposed he must complain, 8 And she steal love's sweet bait from fearful hooks: 9 Being held a foe, he may not have access 10 To breathe such vows as lovers use to swear; 11 And she as much in love, her means much less 12 To meet her new-beloved any where: 13 But passion lends them power, time means, to meet 14 Tempering extremities with extreme sweet.(In particular, check out the creativity displayed by the "Seven Nation Army" rendition in Block 1 and the dark/flashlight rendition in Block 4.)
21st Century, Here I Come!
Rather than grade my American Literature work that has been piling up (don't worry--I'll get to it tonight!), I decided that enough is enough. I'm going to create a blog.
The vision will be evolving, but I hope to create a forum in which we:
*Collaborate
*Chat (meaning "talk" or "discuss")
*Create
As this is my school-related blog, I am expecting that all posts on here will be productive, thought-provoking, appropriate, and above all, RESPECTFUL.
We'll try it out. If it works, fantastic. If not, we'll do something else.
Thanks for visiting; send me a post!
